On of the the most important aspecus of nursing is the emphasis placed on the family unit. The familiy along with the individual, group, and community in nursing’s client or recipient of case. Empirically, we realize that the health of family members and the quality of family life are closely related. Until the last decade, however, remarkably little attention has been paid to the family as an object of systematic study in nursing. Apart from simple evaluative labelling of families with terms such as good, problem, multiproblem, or dysfunctional, nurses in the past were generally un able to describe the families they were caring for. This situation is changing. Today the study families in both undergraduate and graduate programs has grown significantly.
