Ebook : NURSING HOMES
A caregiver’s process often leads to and entails another process—that of being and becoming “the family member” of someone in a nursing home. It begins when you first realize that you have become a caregiver and wonder what will happen over time. It continues when you start telling yourself, “No, not yet, it isn’t time.” Then later, when it becomes more necessary, you visit several different care facilities. You talk with the doctor or your siblings or your friends about what to do. As the time draws closer and the name moves up a waiting list, you label clothes and read admission agreements. Finally, the telephone rings and a voice tells you that there is a room available—tomorrow.
