Anaphylaxis is an acute-onset, life- threatening, systemic hypersensitivity reaction. e acute reaction occurs due to a permanently immu- nologically altered response, which can result in mild to severe reactions and, in isolated cases, to fa-tal reactions upon allergen contact. e avoidance strategies required lifelong in aected individuals signicantly impair quality of life.
Anaphylaxis is an acute systemic reaction with symptoms of an immediate-type allergic reaction which can involve the whole organism and is poten-tially life-threatening [1–3]. e de nition of anaphylaxis is not globally uni-form. Abstract Drug hypersensitivity reactions are unpredictable adverse drug reactions. ey manifest either within 1–6 h following drug intake (immediate reactions) with mild to life-threatening symptoms of anaphy-laxis, or several hours to days later (delayed reac-tions), primarily as exanthematous eruptions. It is not always possible to detect involvement of the immune system (allergy). Waiving…
Abstract Background:ImmunoCAP ISAC 112, is a commer-cially available molecular allergy IgE multiplex test. Data on the comparison of this rather novel test with extract-based as well as molecular Immuno-CAP singleplex IgE tests is missing. Objective:To perform a comparison between the ISAC multiplex IgE assay and the ImmunoCAP single plex test results. Methods:Serum samples of 101 adults with g…
Abstract Arthropods form a broad phylum within the animal kingdom, comprising widely varying members such as insects, arachnids, crabs and centipedes. In addi-tion to common allergies to house dust mites or hy-menoptera venom, there are also rarer allergies that can be attributed to three major sources of allergens: cockroaches, ticks and storage mites. Other less known allergen sources inclu…
